Ugly Sweaters Partyって聞いた事がありますか？
アメリカ人はPartyを行うときによくtheme（テーマ）を
決めて行います。
このUgly Sweaters Christmas partyものその一つです。
クリスマスのデザインがたくさん入っているセーター
この時期になると多くのアメリカ人達（若い人より中年の人達）が
着ているように思います。
サンタさん、クリスマスツリー、雪だるまなどなど
クリスマスのデザインがされているセーターを着てパーティーに
行きます。
もちろん他の人たちもみんな同じようなセーターを着てきます。
Ugly Sweaters Partyはクリスマスパーティーですので
12月に行われます。
なぜUglyかと言うとこの手のセーターはあまり格好良くないからだ
そうです。
アメリカに25年も住んでいるのに、このThemeのパーティーは初めて
聞きました。Ugly Sweatersパーティーに誘われた経験がなかったから
かも知れませんが。
他にも、White partyこれは白のドレスやスーツ着用パーティーです。
ThemeはPartyを開催するホストやホステスが決められます。
以前BYBのパーティーでは70'のパーティーを行いました。
パーティーには70年代の格好をするために当時のファッションやメイク
そしてヘヤースタイルなどを調べましたがとても楽しかった事を
覚えています。
どんなテーマーでも構いませんので一度こんなパーティーを開いて
みませんか？
今年のクリスマスは我が家で行います。家族や友人達と一緒に
過ごすクリスマス。楽しみです。
大きなハムはビルが焼く事になっています。
私は日本で食べるようなクリスマスケーキが好きなので
日本のケーキ屋さんで注文していますが
日本と比べクリスマスケーキがアメリカのベーカリーなどで
数多く並んで売られている事はあまりありません。
日本のクリスマスのイメージとは全く異なっていますね。
信じられないぐらいの数のギフトをたくさん用意して
この日は家族が食べたり飲んだりしながら一緒に過ごす、
それがアメリカのクリスマスです。
クリスマスパーテイの準備は大変ですが年に一度のクリスマス、
気合入れてがんばります。
この日はクリスマス恒例のバスケットボールが午後2時からあり
シーズンがスタートして初めてのLakers VS Heat戦ですので
ものすごい盛り上がりになる事間違いなしです。
でもやっぱりこの時期って食べたり飲んだりが多くなりますよね。
